About Us

Our Story

Committed to overall health care, Premier Chiropractic provides solutions to truly correct the cause of your pain or discomfort, helping you feel like yourself again. Dr. Dean Dierksen and his wife, Felicia, founded Premier Chiropractic in Spring 2014 because of their lifelong commitment to helping people feel better. Felicia is a registered dietician (RD) and this influence furthers the approach to holistic wellness for our patients.

From an early age, Dr. Dierksen has been interested in discovering -and addressing- the root causes of pain. As an adolescent, he watched his grandmother, who had had a stroke and Parkinson’s Disease, take seemingly endless medications but continued to feel worse rather than better. The side effects of the medications also seemed to be worse than the symptoms of the disease and stroke. This inspired Dr. Dierksen to seek a profession that was natural and address the true cause. He doesn’t want to see anyone have to live the way his grandmother has lived for years- diabetic, in a nursing home, and wheelchair bound. His lifelong mission has been to seek wellness not only for himself and those he loves, but for the many patients that trust him with their health.

Helping people live their healthiest lives is the core purpose of everything we do. Back pain is a billion dollar industry {hyperlink to ACA stats landing page} and too often people get caught in the cycle of taking meds for pain, taking additional meds to manage side effects, and creating long-standing health problems. According to the American Chiropractic Association, low back pain costs Americans at least $50 billion in health care costs each year.

We believe addressing and alleviating the pain at its source will vastly improve quality and quantity of life.

Premier Chiropractic & The Crisis Center Partner to Help the Community

Semi-annually Premier Chiropractic & Wellness, owned and operated by Manhattan residents Dr. Dean and Felicia Dierksen, choose a worthy local organization to highlight in their office and raise funds for. Their first gift of 2019 will go to The Crisis Center, which has been serving victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault in Clay, Geary, Marshall, Pottawatomie, and Riley Counties since 1979.

Premier Chiropractic & Wellness efforts raised $10,000 to further the organization’s mission in the Manhattan region.

“We really appreciate and depend on community partnerships,” said Executive Director Judy Davis, accepting the donation at a celebration on Thursday afternoon, January 31st. “This is huge. We depend on gifts from generous donors- often $50 and $100 gifts from people for whom that’s a lot of money.” Judy went on to say that The Crisis Center had a gap in their current budget due to a generous donor who usually gives a large annual donation. “We didn’t know what we were going to do and this check helps to fill that gap. We’re overwhelmed.”

For Premier Chiropractic, it’s just part of their model. Dr. Dean Dierksen explained, “We decided a long time ago to donate the proceeds of all first appointments to a great local charity. Patients’ first visit includes a consultation, exam by the doctor, and x-rays if necessary. 100% of that money goes to the charity we’re highlighting during that period.” Dr. Dierksen went on to describe how that approach makes their patients feel good about not only taking the time to care for themselves, but also helping others in the process.

“It’s important to us to support the health of our community. It’s just good business for us,” Dr. Dierksen shared. “We’re happy to help.”

Now that the fundraising campaign has wrapped for The Crisis Center, Premier Chiropractic is turning their efforts to support the Flint Hills Community Center, which serves the health and wellness needs of the medically underserved by providing quality, compassionate, and personalized care.
